I, the person responsible for creating Own GArment products, am writing this article.
*A maker is someone who is unable to make clothes by themselves, so they look up to the person and ask them to make the clothes they want, and with the help of those around them, they force them to make the clothes they have in mind.)
The team at Own GArmet products consists of Kazuto Funaki (also known as "me") (maker and button maker), his wife Yumiko (designer and patterner), two nuikos, one cutter, and WEB ( It is currently run by a total of six people, including those in charge of EC sites and marketing.
I started this brand in 2014 and have been running it for nine years, but the more I do it, the more I keep asking myself whether there's any point in continuing to make clothes.
Even so, I feel like I'm able to maintain my motivation and keep going thanks to the personality of the owner of the wholesale store and the positive feedback I get from the customers through him.
I am truly grateful.
